Garlic Chives

Allium tuberosum

Origin: China

Flavour: Garlic and onion.

Uses: Stir–fry, soup, marinade, vinegar, sauce, garnish.

Dishes: Garlic chives and eggs, stir fried garlic chives, roasted potatoes with garlic chives, garlic chive soup, Vietnamese tofu and garlic chive soup (canh he dau hu thit bam), Japanese rice egg drop soup with garlic chives (tamago zosui), pork and chive dumplings, Thai chicken stew with garlic chive dumplings, Korean chive salad (buchi muchim), garlic chive and bean sprout salad (sukju namul muchim), garlic chive and potato soup.

Compliments: Chervil, parsley, tarragon, ginger, chilli peppers, dill, basil, cilantro, oregano, marjoram, sorrel, thyme, black pepper.
