Origin: Asia, Europe and North America.

Flavour: Mild with a combination of onion and garlic.

Uses: Salad, soup, fish and seafood, baked goods.

Dishes: French omelette, chive butter, tofu stir–fry, potato and chive soup, chive pancake, cucumber salad, Gräslökstuvad potatis (Swedish potatoes with chives), North African cauliflower soup.

Whether fresh or dried, chives are a delicious compliment to so many recipes. Add them at the end of cooking process as a garnish or combined with a cold dish.
